What is Scalp Micropigmentation?
Scalp Micropigmentation, or SMP for short, is a non-surgical procedure that strategically places micro dot tattoos on the scalp within the upper dermal layer. This process over the course of 2 or 3 sessions, creates the illusion of hair follicles or minute hair growth. This procedure is ideal for those experiencing some level of hair loss from thinning all the way up to complete baldness.
Our specialist Scalp Micropigmentation artist will gradually build hair density in a specific area or all over the scalp using a pre-drawn hairline to create outstanding results.
SMP for Men
Men often experience hair loss due to genetic factors, which can begin in their late teens. Using advanced tattooing, a technique called pointillism can mimic the appearance of short hair using natural pigments.
SMP for Women
Hair maintenance practices such as chemical processing and heat can lead to thinning, but hair loss in women is frequently hormonal, affected by pregnancy, menopause, stress, and certain medications. Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) offers a safe and effective solution.
Increasing Your Confidence.
What Can SMP Help With?
When your sessions are complete, any partial hair loss will be unnoticeable and larger areas of hair loss appears as a buzz cut. Scalp Micropigmentation artists create realistic results by following a natural hair pattern. SMP is unlike any other hair loss treatments, including hair transplants. SMP is non-surgical, has no downtime after the procedure and requires no daily maintenance which means there is no downtime after the procedure. SMP is the best hair loss solution for men, women or those suffering from alopecia or any scalp scars that require camouflaging.
The Process
How it Works
Step 1
Consultation
Treatments involve a thorough consultation. Sometimes treatment can begin immediately after the consultation, although the majority of the time the client needs to consider the discussion and material first, before booking.
Step 2
Treatment
Two to three treatments are common for scalp micropigmentation, but this is dependent on the size of the area to be treated, as well as the client’s ultimate goal.
Step 3
Results & Aftercare
Good after-care is vital as the scalp is constantly exposed. It might be UV light and sun. It may be soaps, shampoos, or skin products. Even pollution affects longevity of the treatment and this is true of any tattoo treatment, whether scalp, permanent make or conventional body art.
